![]() I have more confidence that Cubase will continue, and that projects created in Cubase will be safe for a good long time. It confuses the market and leaves a lot of money on the table. I think it is more accurate to say “Nuendo is - heck, we don’t know, but some people are willing to pay a lot more for it and that’s worked OK so far.”įrom a marketing standpoint I think this is a really bad idea. That may be generally true, but if you look at my list of interest areas above, those are not “post” features per se. So why not offer them as tiers of the same product? I’m not likely to upgrade to Nuendo because I would fear that path could be abandoned in the future, plus the pricing doesn’t make too much sense while Steinberg is viewing these as separate products. The upshot of all of this is that other than the collaboration, it looks like Nuendo is a perfect superset of Cubase Pro. Note that Steinberg is shutting down VST Transit in August, which implies there will be a new mode of collaboration, probably common to both Cubase and Nuendo by then. Nuendo has something different from the VST Transit listed for Cubase. The collaboration area looks interesting.I’d have to see it, but I do a lot of voiceover, not necessarily Foley work. Foley recording might be something I would use.Everything under “sound design” looks interesting to me. ![]() The “Intelligibility Meter” sounds useful, as does the “Loudness curve”.I don’t know what “Field Recorder Audio Import” is, but I have several field recorders.I do appreciate your initiative very much though. There are some cool things I’d probably pay to have on my system, even if they aren’t “really needed”: I just wanted to express my thoughts, I don’t feel negatively or positively regarding votes, just troubled on how it would be better to handle it, as feature requests traditionally have many “quasi-duplicate” threads that may be asking for the same thing with slightly different words, at different times. Or people would feel they need to vote in feature request threads that are compilations of many small requests of the same nature, so that they feel they get the most out of their vote. If I were to retract my votes and cast them to new and better requests, you (the team) would be left with a picture of “feature request of the week”, or the most “fashionable” ones. However, I hesitate to retract them, as I do consider those requests important. So essentially, I have 5/6 votes cast that may be completely worthless. The final vote is on having newly added tracks not add themselves to any visibility configuration. That could be one vote (depending on how broadly we interpret a feature request.)Īnother one is the handling of “Mute Pre-Send when Mute”, that from what I gathered went through “Issues” at one point, only to decide that it’s implemented as intended and misunderstood. 4/6 votes I cast are in topics regarding key commands. The votes are too few and the requests too dispersed.įor example, I personally am out of votes at the moment. I think it will be a hard nut to crack, voting for feature requests. When you are entering you ideas, please make sure to tag your post with “Feature-Request” and please keep each thread focused on a specific suggestion instead of long lists. So more active users in this community will have more chances to vote. But ideas or suggestions that are discussed and supported widely by the community, will definitely be considered by the team.ĭepending on your Member Level you will have a specific amount of votes. There are a lot of factors that influence the decision what improvements the next Cubase version will introduce. Of course, this is not a direct vote on the Cubase development backlog. But as diverse as the use cases, musical genres or production techniques of the Cubase user community are, as much differ the opinions on how Cubase should be improved in the future. I would like to encourage you to use your votes to let us know what your priorities are in the “Feature Request” category.Įveryday new ideas on how to improve Cubase are discussed in this community. Some of you may have noticed the “Vote” function in our new forum.
